2022 promises to be a very special year in the long and extraordinary history of Terrot. Not only is the company celebrating its 160th anniversary, but it also expects to produce more machines under Terrot and the newly incorporated Pilotelli brand, at its headquarters in Chemnitz, Saxony, as at any time before. After a severe crisis in 2019/2020 amplified by an early hit from the Covid-19 pandemic and growth of nearly 50% in 2021, 2022 is shaping up to be a relatively successful year so far, with backlog growth orders in excess of 500 machines in the first 9 months and a pipeline amounting to roughly the same volume, planning projects for 2023 and 2024.

While 2020 was dominated by single jersey machines, 2021 and the current year are mainly characterized by strong demand in the home textiles, mattresses and sportswear sector, both for mechanical machines and electronics. Importantly, all of this was achieved despite supply chain issues causing delays, the highest prices for commodities, raw materials and parts, especially electronic semiconductors, as well as transport and, lately, energy costs which have exploded. us like probably many others to breaking point.
