St. Vincent dePaul is looking for artists to create works of art with thrift store finds for its unique fundraiser

St. Vincent de Paul Northern Kentucky (SVdP NKY) hosts its second art fundraising event, Creative compassion: a night of art for our neighbors in need, March 31 at the Drees Pavilion at Devou Park.

SVdP is looking for high school, college and professional artists to register to participate in the creation of works of art with finds from thrift stores. Interested artists can register online at until February 7th.

Once registered, artists will receive a $ 50 gift certificate to shop at one of SVdP NKY’s four thrift stores. They will use these treasures to create a unique work of art that reflects the message of the SVdP ministry – to give hope to neighbors in need.

Art can take the form of collage, mixed media, 3-D, textiles, or painting. Each entry will be submitted to a jury by a group of professional artists and 10 pieces will be chosen for the live art auction that will take place during the fundraising event.

The proceeds from the sale of the art will be shared between SVdP and the artists. Artists will receive one free entry to the event and one free ticket for one guest.

Creative Compassion is brought to you by Trivaco. Tickets for the artistic fundraiser are on sale now and can be purchased online at Each ticket costs $ 65 and includes: a bite-size dinner, 2 drink tickets, the live art auction, a silent auction consisting of various gift baskets and an on-site thrift store.

Proceeds from this event will help neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet with assistance with rent and utilities and other basic needs.
