Maligaon, December 20 (MExN): Chief Minister of Assam Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Darshana Jardosh inaugurated a Looms and Textiles Center (an outlet of the Department of looms and textiles, Assam) at Guwahati station on December 19.
On the same day, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated a loom and textile center at Naharlagun station. These inaugurations took place after the shutdown of two Vistadome services between Guwahati – Naharlagun and Naharlagun – Tinsukia.
NF Railway has opened these centers for the sale of hand-woven products and textiles in the stations. These initiatives will help textile and loom artisans to sell their products and achieve self-sufficiency. Travelers can enjoy the unique experience by purchasing the traditional hand-woven products of their choice. With a large number of passages in stations, it will contribute to the dissemination of local products and cultural heritage throughout the world. This is another effort by NFR to stimulate the local economy.
Later, at the NF Railway headquarters in Maligaon, Darshana Jardosh, MoSR and Queen Oja, MP (Lok Sabha) inaugurated a network control and data analysis center. NF Railway General Manager Anshul Gupta was also present. The NCDAC (Network Control & Data Analytics Center) is being developed at the headquarters of NF Railway, in Maligaon, to promote the use of technical advances in the IT field.
