The qualities popularized by pandemic home consumers lead Italian textile maker Berto’s denim collection for Fall / Winter 22-23. Dubbed âThe Empathy Collection,â the five-part range addresses comfort and durability in several ways.
Berto responds to the “desire to dress as if surrounded by a warm hug” with Everyday Plush. Here, the factory experiments with cashmere blends to provide the wearer with a âwarm and soft feelâ, and blends cotton with viscose to create a soft, flowing feel that the factory compares to âsoapy denimâ.
Other fabrics blending cotton and nylon provide a technical yet elegant look while maintaining stretch, lightness and softness performance.
In Japan Calling, Berto captures the authentic essence of Japanese denim with structured weaves and 100% cotton constrictions. To complete the capsule, a special blend with a Tencel slub weft is available, adding an unexpected soft and flowing touch to fabrics with a rough look.
The Mother Nature range encompasses Berto’s extensive use of GOTS certified organic cotton and Pianeta fabric, the factory’s GRS certified recycled cotton fabrics made by regenerating its own production waste. This waste is also recycled by Italian seal maker Cadica Group to produce sustainable labels and hang tags.
The factory also takes a hands-on approach to trends.
As’ 90s trends and vintage denim influences continue to filter through mens and womens fashion for all ages, the Iconic line offers seasonal fabrics with a classic salt and pepper look. Rigid fabrics, lightweight shirts and comfort slub denim are offered here, in addition to a range of base fabrics in stock.
To contrast with the vintage blues, Black Blood offers double black fabrics with âtwo souls,â the factory described. The collection includes overdyed sulfur denims that give an aggressive washed-out look, and black weft fabrics âinspired by elegance and sophisticationâ.
