CHRISTMAS LUNCH BASKETS: American Legion Post 29 will be accepting requests for Christmas lunch baskets, for Randolph County residents only, until today between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. obligatory. Applications must be completed at the office and cannot leave the building. Nominations do not guarantee that you will be selected to receive a dinner, and preference will be given to military families. The baskets will be distributed on December 18th. Letters to recipients will be mailed from Monday. For more information, call 636-3930.

RANDOLPH COUNTY RETIRED SCHOOL STAFF ASSOCIATION: The December meeting of the Randolph County Retiree School Staff Association will meet today at 12:30 p.m. at the Steer Steakhouse in Elkins. All retired school employees are welcome to attend. Bring in items for the scholarship auction. For any questions, you can call 304-636-7649.

HOLIDAY PET ADOPTION EVENT: The Randolph County Humane Society will be hosting a Holiday Pet Adoption Event on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. The animals will be available for adoption. The Humane Society also needs food for dogs and cats, as well as toys for cats and dogs, blankets and towels. For more information or to donate, call 304-636-7844.

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY: The American Legion Station 29 Auxiliary will be hosting a Children’s Christmas Party Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for children 11 and under. There will be snacks, crafts and, of course, Santa Claus.

TEXTILE ARTS: On Sunday, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the Arts Center will host an opening reception for an exhibition of textile arts by the Log Cabin Quilters Guild and the Mountain Weavers Guild. The exhibit will feature quilts, drapes, 3D felted works and woven fabric art pieces. This opening is free and open to the public.

COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS CANTATE: Asbury Loose Methodist Church will be hosting a Community Christmas Cantata at 7:00 pm Sunday at 134 S. Beverly Pike in Belington. A candlelight service will close the evening and refreshments will follow in the community room.

ELKINS BROTHERS CHURCH: will be closed on Sunday. The church will reopen on Sunday December 19 at 11 a.m.

MONDAY MANNA DINNER: Will be offered by First United Methodist Church from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and December 20 at 315 Kerens Ave. to Elkins. Meals will be served inside. Please enter through the front door.

AIRPORT AUTHORITY: The Elkins-Randolph County Regional Airport Authority will be holding its regular monthly meeting at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday in the airport terminal.

HOMESTEAD ASSOCIATION: The Tygart Valley Homestead Association will meet at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Homestead Community and Event Center in Dailey. All are welcome and community residents are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact Tom Rennix at 304-940-1855.

RANDOLPH COUNTY FARM BUREAU: Hosting a 6 p.m. Christmas dinner on Tuesday at Camp Pioneer. The camp will provide meat and drinks. Please bring a covered dish. There will be a demonstration of the West Virginia Farm Bureau quiz book. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call 304-338-6010.

BROWN BAG CONCERT: The Arts Center will be hosting a Brown Bag concert on Wednesday at noon. Singer and pianist Raymond Godwin will be performing, and his show will feature several of your favorite Christmas songs, and most likely an appearance by Santa himself. This event is free and open to the public.

KUMP HOUSE HOLIDAY FAMILY CELEBRATION: will take place on December 17, 18 and 19 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The event will include tours of the historic house decorated by the Emma Scott Garden club with nativity scenes and Christmas traditions from around the world, crafts activities for children and refreshments. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. The Kump House is located on Randolph Ave., across from Kroger.

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: The Harman Presbyterian Church will be hosting their Christmas program on December 22 at 6 p.m. Special guests will be Steve and Kati Smith, who are Christian singers, as well as a visit from Santa Claus. Everyone is welcome to attend.

OUR CITY INC. : needs artificial pines for decoration project 2022. Trees must be green and not pre-lit. Donated trees can be placed on the Delmote porch on either side of the front door. Make sure that when you drop the trees they don’t block the entrance. For more information, call 304-636-0415.

AL-ANON: meets at Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church every Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

SUPPORT GROUP: The West Virginia Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) holds a support group for veterans with depression and bipolar disorder on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Elkins VFW from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. for more information contact John Riley at 304-376-3213 or email [email protected]
